Meet 2019 LUKE

I'm COOL HAND LUKE! I'm a feisty little old man about 10 years old. I'm a busy, bossy little thing. True to my breed I'm highly sensitive, an independent thinker, and somewhat assertive so I'm not a great match for a first-time owner and I'm not suitable for a home with small children.

I'm great with all other little dogs (big dogs - not so much). I'm having a blast running around the little dog area at Old Farm Pet Resort. My pack and I are all "littles" and we race around and bark. My rescue lady loves to see me in their yard when she comes to visit. My coat had just been groomed before I came back to my rescue lady so it's not as long as it is naturally.

I became a "perfect pointer" 8 years ago when a co-worker of my rescue lady's asked her to take me in from an abusive owner. She found me a great home with a very nice young couple. They took such good care of me and I loved them both - especially my dad. He could do anything with me. Unfortunately (for me) they had a baby 8 months ago and once he started to move around I tried to train him like I would another dog. It wasn't appreciated by my parents.

I'm a little shy around men when I first meet them. I still have a few hang-ups from my first couple of years of life. I was kicked so I'm fear aggressive toward shoes. I don't like to be picked up - but I'll happily jump on the couch to lie beside you.

I am not a couch potato! I need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation, and I like to spend time jumping, playing, and investigating any new sights and smells. I've lived with a cat quite well - he swatted me and I ignored him. It was a mutual understanding.

I've got a lot of good years left in me and am looking for my perfect home!
