Pete Catahoula Leopard Dog & Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Mix Flower Mound, TX

Pete is a 6 month old, 23 lb Catahoula/Heeler mix. This adorable pup had a rough start in life. He was very sick when he came to Humane Tomorrow, but his foster mom nursed him back to health, and now he is ready for adoption into his forever home! Foster mom says that Pete is very happy boy. He likes to play but is not overly energetic. He likes to chase tennis balls, go for hikes, and play in the shallow part of the lake. Pete will need a good assortment of hard chew toys to keep him from chewing on things he shouldn't. Pete may be a little shy when first meeting a new person, but he will warm up as soon as he knows he will be safe and secure. Then, he will be your bestie! Pete loves the other dogs in is foster home and sleeps with them at night. He has been ok with cats but is a little afraid of them. Pete does not live with kids, and because of his shyness, he should not go to a home with kids under the age of 6. Pete is housetrained with a doggie door. He does not like to be crated, but foster mom has left him in an x pen, and he tolerates that much better. Pete should not go to a home where he will be left alone for long periods of time.
