Theo Ta-o Giant Schnauzer Phoenix, AZ

Theo pronounced Ta-o has arrived. He is a pure bred male pepper salt giant schnauzer with a harsh coat. He has a lot to learn but in a patient home who knows giants, he will blossom.

This boy will be your life long friend. We personally had a big male pepper salt giant and he was my all time favorite. Theo will be the same way to the person that chooses to love and adopt him.

Theo is now out in group play where he is with dogs of his size and is doing well. He would do well with a larger female dog. He has also been to some adoption events and did well with kids that he met and with smaller dogs.he could be with older kids, no one under the age of 8 just due to the childs smaller size. He is still not a dog that can exist without direction but that is true for most giant schnauzers. The following was on intake and Theo is definitely improving. He has never been around other animals and was described as very dominant by the trainer who surrendered him to us. he stressed that Theo is very dominant. So far he is just a classic giant schnauzer. But he is not for the feint of heart or quick tempered human. This guy needs constant training and exercise, exercise, and more exercise. He lived outside for sometime now so will need to learn house manners.

He can and will learn with patience. He just arrived on March 2 and will need to be neutered and he will also be groomed and get vet checked. He is up to date on his shots.

He lived with a family who had no idea about giant schnauzers and could not deal with him so he was sent to live outside. He was just two years old in October so he is a typical young male giant schnauzer that needs constant and consistent training. He is not and never will be a couch potato. If you are not an active person or family, this is not the dog for you. You must enjoy a challenge and exercise and working with your dog on a daily basis.

Applications in the immediate area are given preference and you need to be within a day's driving distance to come and pick up a dog. We do not ship our dogs. When you adopt a dog from us and for some reason it doesn't work, the dog must be returned to VSGSR and a full refund is given with in the first thirty days. Any dog adopted from us at any time comes back to Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue if the adopter can not keep the dog. We are responsible for our dogs for their lifetime. And we hope our adopters are also. Each dog will have been neutered, had full panel blood tests done, been microchipped and up to date on all of his shots. We do prefer that you be within driving distance of Phoenix to adopt one of our dogs. If the adoption doesn't work out for some reason with in the first thirty days, the adoption fee is refunded upon return of the dog. Our contract states that during the life of the dog, should something happen that you can not keep any of our dogs, the dog must be returned to VSGSR. Should a family member wish to adopt the dog, they would be given first priority. We are responsible for our dogs for their entire life.
