Health: Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Paralyzed from waist down from birth defect caused by improper breeding. He can move around by dragging himself with front legs, but he can't stand or walk. Because of the lack of muscle control in his back legs, Swayze cannot use a litterbox and must have his urine and feces manually expressed a few times a day. This puts him at high risk for bladder infections as well. Sometimes he will leak if excited or nervous. We have found it helpful to have him shaved from the waist down to avoid matting.

Meet Swayze

Swayze is a long haired Himalayan with blue eyes. He was paralyzed from the waist down and requires a lot of special care. He is extremely playful and active despite not having the use of his back legs and especially loves spring toys and track toys. He uses his front legs to scoot around and is strong enough to even climb on furniture and towers (though he cannot get down on his own). Swayze's condition requires a lot of special care, and needs to have a person available to take care of him constantly throughout the day.
