Meet Mika--Adoption Pending
Mika is living in a foster home. Please complete an application, and we can then link you up with her foster family for an introduction.
Mika is the most lovable sweetheart I have ever met! Her happiness and bouncy personality is infectious. She is about 1 year old and weighs 36 lbs. She loves tennis balls and will try to carry one everywhere she goes! She also loves tug-o-war, laying in the sun and sniffing literally everything. Her piglet-like snorts make my heart melt. She is seriously so funny, silly and adorable.
She is very eager to please and VERY food motivated, so training her has gone well. She used to put everything in her mouth and jump on people (at the door, but also to be closer to them once they sat down), but has made awesome progress there. Being a teenager, she will do the occasional frowned upon thing, but she responds really well to direction and can be easily redirected to something more appropriate to focus her attention. She's been listening very well to her foster parents, and we're sure she will do the same to her forever parents.
She’s a huge snuggler. She really does make a great companion. She loves other dogs, kids, babies, cats, people- everything really. Unless she smells something crazy, she is perfect on a leash and is completely crate trained. She displayed very minor separation anxiety at first, but with her boost in confidence, she is totally independent and thriving. This gal has come a long way in a short amount of time, so I can’t wait to see how great she will be in her forever home!
Mika is nearly housebroken, but would still benefit from a regular outside schedule. She knows sit, down, paw, and (most of the time) stay!
Her energy comes in bursts, so zooming all over followed promptly by a long nap- very manageable.
Bonus: When she sleeps, you can literally see her smile- come on, who doesn’t want to wake up to that!
