Bonita Boxer Mix Cincinnati, OH

Beautiful Bonita comes to STAF with her two kids, Gwynnie and Rugby, via one of the most dangerous and high kill county pounds. All three were dumped when the owner no longer wanted them. People can be so heartless.

The volunteers at STAF are so thankful and relieved that we can be here for Bonita. On Bonita’s first vet visit after arriving at STAF we were very saddened to learn that Bonita is Heartworm positive.

We at STAF are of the “half-full” attitude and although there are a lot of things better than Heartworm, the STAF volunteers were so, so thankful that they could be there to help Bonita during her Heartworm treatments. Bonita is the kind of dog that refuses to let Heartworm get her down and you can see how happy she was on her freedom ride to STAF in one of her Petfinder photos:). Guess what? Bubbly Bonita has beat that dog-gone heartworm and we are over-the-moon happy to say that Bonita is back to her happy-healthy self:)!!!

Bonita is medium size and approximately 3 years old. Bonita loves everyone she meets and has the patented boxer-wiggle-waggle-butt:). Bonita also has a calming and gentle nature and although during her Heartworm treatment her activity had to be limited, Bonita is ready to back and ready meet her future family!

Bonita loves to cuddle and give kisses and seems to be especially happy and excited to meet children.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 11.
We do request vet and personal references.
At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
