Ruthie is five years old and a sweet, gentle soul. She has a giant fluffy tail that never stops wagging. Ruthie is quite shy due to her rough beginnings (she came to us from a hoarding situation and had an embedded collar), and she takes a little while to warm up to new people. She has thrived in a female-only home but can take longer to acclimate to men so ideally would go to either an adult female home or a home with patient men who will give her time to feel comfortable and build up their relationship. However, once Ruthie gets to know you, all she wants to do is cuddle and give kisses! She's great on walks, and doesn't pull or chase after other furry friends but seems hit or miss with other dogs when up close and personal so may prefer to be the only dog in her forever home. Ruthie loves cheese, and takes treats very politely.

She's very eager to show off her tricks if there are biscuits available! Ruthie is crate trained, but she doesn't need to be crated during the day since she isn't mischievous or destructive at all. But, Ruthie actually prefers to sleep in her crate if no one is around to cuddle, so you don't have to feel badly about leaving her in the crate if you prefer! Once you meet Ruthie, you'll immediately fall in love with her giant doe eyes and her sweet disposition!
