Meet Charlotte
Update: Duke has been adopted but Charlotte still needs a home!!! She really likes other dogs and is making progress with people. She uses a doggy door well and just needs a calm and patient home who will help show her that humans are good!!!
Well, these two cuties have certainly been a challenge! They came to us from a rural shelter. Despite those beautiful smiles on their faces, these two have been here a couple of weeks and still don't want to be touched. They are warming up to us and enjoying the canned food. They are always happy to see us and I am beginning to wonder if they think it's a game to run out through the doggy door when people approach them. Duke is the male pug. The female is Charlotte and she is a pug/poodle mix (we were told). We were told both dogs are around 2, but we really have no idea as we didn't receive any vet records or paperwork with them. Any pug lovers out there up for a challenge?
Our normal adoption fee is $200 each. We would adopt these two out together for $300 to cover their vet costs. They are definitely a bonded pair. Charlotte tends to shut down with Duke, even though Duke is often seen scolding her for being jumpy or barky. They are a comical pair! Surprisingly, they did seem to like the children who visited the other day.
If interested in adopting them, please fill out the app on our website at rubysrescueandretreat.org. Thank you for your interest!
