Beau Hound & German Shorthaired Pointer Mix Riverdale, NJ

Attention adopters of Annie's puppies and German Short Haired Pointer Fans:

Meet Beau. This 10 month old big beauty is ready for a new home! He's a Hound/Pointer mix. He came to us as a puppy with his siblings and after being adopted at 8 weeks, was returned recently because his mom felt guilty she wasn't giving him enough exercise. We welcomed him back but can't wait for him to find a new active family that's looking for a fun, adventurous young boy! He deserves a FOREVER home just like his other siblings.

Beau is good with other dogs, big and small, but he's playful and loves to romp, wrestle and tug. So another pup that could keep up would be a good fit. He'd probably do fine as an only pet too if his family was super active, around a lot and wanted a dog to include in their every day life.

Beau is housebroken and crate trained. He is crafty with the crate though and can get out if not securely fastened. He may look like an adult with his size, but don't be fooled, at 10 months, he's just one big pup. He's got basic training - sit, stay and down - enjoys long walks and walks well on a leash. He likes toys of all kinds. This guy is not fussy - Frisbee, ball, soft and squishy, squeaky toys or a hard bone to chew, don't matter - he's happy! He's up to date with his vetting and neutered.

He's friendly with people of all ages, but he's rambunctious, so he could knock over small kids that aren't paying attention. Beau would benefit from continued training or a job with a handler. He's learning about the water. His foster mom is teaching him the "crawl" command. He's got a prey drive and isn't anxious or nervous with loud noises. He's one smart fella and thrives when he's learning.
