Meet Taylor

Tagged as special needs due to being in the shelter over one year.
Taylor has a sponsor who subsidized his fee to $25.
He has been a shelter resident since March 29, 2017
Taylor arrived over a year ago as an ill kitty who also had skin issues. He had lost a lot of hair as he would soothe himself by constant licking to compensate for his stress at being in the shelter. In time his hair grew back as he became a bit braver and acclimated to being surrounded by kitties. He is serene and calm and purrs beautifully. He rarely asserts himself with cats who try to pick on him and will attempt to hide from them. Taylor is 2 1/2 yrs old. He is on the small side, a bit chubby and has lovely green eyes. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and tested free of FIV/FeLV. Taylor has been safely housed indoors for a long time and would be at risk for harm if outside. An indoor home preferably a quiet one (no drama) where everyone is nice to each other is being sought. Taylor enjoys visitors and would welcome potential adopters to spend time with him on the couch.

If traveling a distance, it is suggested to submit an application in advance to complete the approval process. All questions can be answered by calling the office at 706-865-4135. If you can provide a safe indoor home, submit an application online or at the shelter after a get acquainted visit. Application can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/cat-adoption-application. The online form may generate a " Fatal Error" message after submission which is to be ignored. It is a system glitch and the submission HAS gone through. Adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet, a call to landlord if renting and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. Those who are not in a nearby community will have a virtual home visit. Out of state adoption is allowed. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home.

Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals remain in care for however much time is necessary to find a safe and appropriate home. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control facilities. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4. Closed Mondays.
