Meet Southie
Hello I'm Southie! I just turned 2 years old and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm 16lbs and I can be pretty rambunctious and playful, but I also enjoy just snuggling down with you on the couch or finding a quiet spot in the sun to relax. (I really love my foster parents' patio.) I love taking walks outside and I enjoy meeting and playing with other dogs.

I'm crate trained and understand about things and places in the house that are not for dogs. I don't have a lot of tricks in my repertoire but I learn fast and respond well to treats.
While Southie is fabulous once he is comfortable with you, he does not transition well from home to home and he's wary of strange people coming into his space unexpectedly. Because of this we are seeking a low-traffic home with no children. A one-person home would be ideal. He has some significant barrier aggression until he feels comfortable with you. I can't stress enough how awesome this dog is once he gets comfortable - he warms up to females much more quickly than males and the smaller the person the easier it is as well.
Southie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Southie is being fostered in Milbury, MA.
The adoption fee is $350.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label
