Meet Raider

RAIDER IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER
Thank you to Dog Trainer Lou owner of Good Citizen Dog for boarding and assessing him. Thank you to BBBR Home Inspector Joan for transporting him. Lou says: Joan delivered Raider today. I went out to the SUV to meet him.
Raider was in a crate and a bit frightened with his tail between his legs. I made eye contact with him while softly telling him it's okay and that he was a good boy. After he stood up I opened the crate and he jumped out of the SUV and walked calmly to the facility door.
Other dogs were barking he showed no fear or interest in what was going on with them.
I released him into the indoor play area to decompress for a bit before starting the assessment.
About 20 minutes later I entered the play area where Raider approached me and sat down. I told him what a good boy he was and with tail wagging I delivered a treat that he tasted but promptly spit out. He was not interested in treats regardless of value.
Raider followed me to a secondary play area that housed three other dogs. He calmly greeted them at the gate. He was reminded what a good boy he was and offered a tasty treat which he refused.
Raider was called away from the gate for our next exercise he responded on second command to come.
I sat down in a chair and Raider approached me and proceed to climb into my lap. I told to sit his response was to climb higher into my lap. I pushed him off at that point and he walked around the room a few times and returned to me. He put his head in my lap for a few minutes and then proceed to lift my hand to be petted. I ignored him and he continued to lift my hand for a few minutes. I got up and walked away he simply went about sniffing the room.
I called him over to me and looked at his teeth, pick up his paws and rub him with and against the grain. His response "more I'm in heaven"
Next I attempted to play tug with him. He would grab the rope and lightly pull with little interest in the game. I grabbed a tennis ball tossed it across the room he had no interest in it at all. The only thing that got him excited to play was a squeaky toy.
Raider appears to be a gentle soul that would benefit from some basic obedience. He pulls a bit on leash but corrected easy.
