Jade Boxer & American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Normal, IL

Jade is a 3 1/2 year old female Boxer mix who weighs 72.2#. She's a sweet and energetic girl who loves everyone as soon as she meets them! She knows sit, shake and down, and she's house trained! Yay, Jade! Jade needs to be the only dog in the home and would do best in a home with children over 12 years old.

Jade's foster mom had this to say about her:

'She has been nothing but nice, is well-behaved, and a great dog. She has never destroyed anything in my house although I leave her out her kennel at night and when I leave during the day. She is essentially never in there unless she decides to go there herself. I think she lost some weight because we've been exercising and walking a lot. She likes to play in the garden and is very friendly to other people and completely ignores the dogs in my neighborhood. She does get protective of her home and her owner though. For example, I had her in my office where she was relaxed and quiet for hours, but she would growl at anyone who walked in (even people she knew and liked) unless I walked in with that person. People visiting my house were never a problem. With other dogs, it is hit or miss. We have encountered dogs on our walks that she was very friendly with, but there are also some she barks and growls at. I can't tell which dogs upset her and which don't. She knows the basic commands and I let her run next to my bicycle. That works, but she still needs to learn not to chase after bunnies. Her minimum adoption fee is adopter's choice plus a $10 fee for rabies registration with McLean County Animal Control.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
