Meet Angel - ADOPTED!

Hi, I’m Angel!

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been isolated a lot in my life, and I am just bursting with energy and desire to become someone’s “special angel” for the rest of my days.

Moving to a foster family where there are solid routines has been very good for me. Despite some initial fear and trust issues, I have learned to relax more and am enjoying life in rural Wisconsin. I like short and long walks; I am learning to wait at doors before going out, and even to behave nicely on a leash, especially when I am excited by so many new smells and sounds. My previous owners said I was 6 years old, but I am so excited about life that my foster mom is having a hard time believing I'm "that" old. Because I would love to run with abandon, I will need a fenced in yard.

My foster Mom says I am very reliable in my house-training, never once having had an accident inside. I have a good appetite, and she says I take a treat from her hand as if I have velvet lips! And I think she really likes the way my one ear flops to the side, particularly when she is talking to me about something she thinks is important, and then I nuzzle into her hand so she can scratch under my chin or behind my ears.

But my absolute favorite thing to do with my foster Mom is to play fetch and carry with a variety of large stuffed toys with squeaks in them! I just live for all the times they can do that, and I express my eagerness loudly whenever I sense a playtime is coming up. Both of them say that most of the other Sammies they have had don’t like to bring the toys back to them, but I almost always do, so I guess I am truly special!

Would do best in a family without children. While we were told that Angel was purebred before we got to the shelter, and she looked like she could be a biscuity samoyed, we think she may be a mix and possibly part border collie. She was also heartworm positive when we got her and we treated her for it.

Most suited to an experienced dog owner
Very eager to please, so basic obedience training might be helpful.
Has A LOT of love to give.
