ALYSON Siamese & Snowshoe Mix Grand Rapids, MI

Adorable Alyson—all 7 lbs of her—came to us from Shiawassee County in January of 2017 after residing there since April of 2016. I am not sure why the shelter was able to hang on to this gorgeous little FELV+ girl for as long as they did, but I know I speak for all of us at Big Sid’s when I say that we are extremely grateful they were! I do know that they secured a place with us in October, but due to the high demand for placement of positive kitties in our local community, we had to keep pushing back her intake until all of the immediate needs in town and the immediate surrounding areas were met. By the time the fabulous 5 year old tot arrived at our sanctuary (she was born in the spring of 2011) she was in dire need of medical attention, as many of her teeth were rotting out of her head; now she sports quite the toothless grin, showing off her pretty pearly white canines (and not much else:)

Immediately after daintily placing her tiny toe pads on the premises, Alyson had the entire volunteer staff swooning at the mere sight of her Snowshoe/Siamese stunning good looks! Couple that with a smidge of an ear tip (from being previously TNR’d more than likely) and a grin from nose to chin, and well, you can see how easy it was for everyone to become absolutely smitten with this kitten! And to top that all off, this pint-size package of purrfection is as easy-going as she is easy on the eyes; in fact, there isn’t a cat around that she hasn’t met and become best friends with!

It is a damn shame that she is harboring the feline leukemia virus, as being positive definitely decreases her chances of getting adopted, though through NO fault of her own. She is, however, one of the happiest little girls we have living with us so I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for her. She doesn’t know that the odds are a wee bit stacked against her, so we aren’t going to tell her. She is a vibrant, vivacious bundle of energy and enthusiasm that delights us with every move she makes—we are totally overjoyed to be able to call her our own! And I feel it in my bones that Alyson the Adorable WILL indeed find herself a home before too long, as she is simply too darn cute and charming to be overlooked!
