Meet Wobbles

Are you looking for a goofy, outgoing, social-butterfly rock star kitten to share your life with??

Six-month-old Wobbles is a special kitty looking for a special home! Wobbles is what many people refer to as a "CH kitty," meaning that she was born with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. Because a part of her brain was underdeveloped at birth, she doesn't have the same fine motor skills as other kitties and is subsequently quite uncoordinated. Despite her awkward gait and frequent tumbles, however, Wobbles is a happy cat who is constantly on the go! She doesn't know that anything is wrong with her and is quite content to play with toys, converse with her humans, and then curl up in a lap for a nice long snuggle nap.

Wobbles loves to meet new people! She becomes instant friends with any human that she meets and becomes quite the purr machine. That being said, Wobbles has been quite vocal (hiss, growl, etc.) when introduced to other animals while in foster care, so a home with other pets would need to be committed to a gradual introduction process. It is unclear if her reaction to other animals is a defense mechanism due to her CH or if she genuinely doesn't like them, but only time will tell.

At just shy of 4 pounds, it's speculated that Wobbles may have already reached her maximum size. She has a healthy appetite (note: given her CH, her table manners are not the best!) and loves canned food, but she does not seem to be gaining more weight at this time. Beyond the CH, Wobbles appears quite healthy and is likely to have the same life expectancy as a kitty without CH.

While your veterinarian is of course the best source for information on cerebellar hypoplasia, in the meantime you can also find more information at these websites:
