Introducing BoJack! This stout Chocolate Lab mix is just over 40 lbs and is probably going on about 2 years old. How cute is he? Like a miniature Chocolate Lab! This happy go lucky guy is one big ham and boy does he know how to play his cards right.

BoJack’s confidence is through the roof, but not in an overbearing sort of way. Nothing seems to scare the boy. He is completely housebroken and crate trained! Foster Mom reports that crating him isn’t even necessary as she’s let him have the run of the house while she is out and he’s been great! He doesn’t mind his crate in the least bit, so if you’d prefer a crate-trained gentleman, he fits the bill ;) BoJack loves children and is a very tolerant fellow. Being poked and prodded at is no problem at all; he just enjoys the attention! If you’re looking to get some of your kids’ energy out, he is a great release as he’ll run around and play with kids all day if he could! He seems to alternate between ‘on’ and ‘off.’ It’s either running around and getting a good play session in, or sleeping on the couch!

When meeting other dogs, BoJack is pretty respectful. He sniffs them, reads their signals as to whether or not they want to play, and proceeds accordingly! He currently lives with a bundle of fur babies, some of which love playing and others who prefer the couch. BoJack was very polite and did his own thing with the standoffish bunch, then engaged in play time with the peppier group! He would do best with a doggy buddy to manage his energy levels, though it certainly isn’t a requirement. Structured introductions don’t seem to be necessary and based on his interactions with other dogs thus far, he would probably do fine at a dog park. Cats and BoJack do not mix, so he’ll need a feline-free home.

As far as health issues are concerned, BoJack has an old broken hind foot that has healed on his own. It looks a little funny, but doesn’t cause any problems for him, nor does it require any attention. He also has a few air rifle pellets in him… but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life to it’s fullest! BoJack has a good bit of stamina and needs some outlets for his energy which can be taken care of with a few heavy duty play sessions either with other pups or playing fetch. That has proven to be sufficient, but if you love walking your dog, a couple of those would probably be fine too!

Love and cuddles are high on BoJacks ‘must-have’ list and he leans a little on the needy side, but that’s just his way of showing you how happy he is to be a part of your family. It doesn’t last long, his neediness that is. When left alone, he finds dog toys to chew on or just takes a nap. He’s still working on some of his manners when he gets excited, but other than that, he’s very well behaved. Thunder storms are scary for him but his reaction is to cuddle up closer for security in your lap. Being cradled like a baby is also a preferred position for transport.

This boy is a bit ridiculous when it comes to sleeping positions… He does the tongue out deal and even sticks all 4 paws straight in the air, looking like he’s playing dead! He’s got quite the dynamic and goofy personality, always smiling :) For some free entertainment and a good drainage on youngster human energy, BoJack would be the perfect fit!

To ensure our dogs are placed in a safe environment, we require a home visit for all adoptions. Because of this, we typically only adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options. Please understand that you would be responsible for all transportation - meeting the dog, picking the dog up to start a trial, returning the dog should he/she not be a good fit, etc. Please visit our website for more info.
