Max - update Feb 4 Husky Mix St Stephen, NB

Update Feb 4: Max is a sweetheart, friendly with people and dogs he has met. He does very well with his foster friend Teri on his overnights. Max's main issue is that he has a high prey drive for things that move quickly. Loud trucks and cars - he can lunge on leash. He is a VERY strong boy, so squirrels or other things that move on walks are a challenge. His new family will need to work on that. He is looking for a cat free home with children 12+ who can assist in his training. Max is not a fan of restraint (being grabbed, held or moved physically - hands have not always been used in a positive way for some dogs, by mistake or otherwise) and has some anxiety/fear that comes from not knowing what to do in situations when he gets stressed. His new family will need to work with him "force free" (no grabbing or confrontation) to help him learn and feel confident in what his people want him to do. This is a dog who is truly looking to bond with someone - he has a lot of GSD traits in his personality. A relationship based on trust will allow him to bloom into the best dog he can be. MAX is a very handsome extra large mixed breed, approx.18 mos. old as of June 2016.
