Meet Ziggy (Skippy)

Duffy's Friends matches dogs to families and individuals in and very close to Rochester and Buffalo, New York using a zipcode of 14421 for Buffalo. (no more than 15 miles). There is a possible area of Syracuse NY depending if you are no more than 15 miles from zipcode 13039. The ability of a short drive for our volunteers is our priority. They must complete a home visit and they have asked us to limit the time they spend driving. We define Rochester as Monroe County and Victor.

We adopt to those who own their home, have a traditional fenced yard, and do not have children under 12 living in the home. Applicants must have a prior history of dog ownership with a positive vet reference.

Our adoption fee is $350 for a heart worm tested, spayed/neutered dog with all vaccinations, flea/tick and professional grooming and heart worm preventative. You will receive a Duffy's Friends ID tag and medical records with your adoption. Check out our website at www.duffysfriends.org for our adoption steps, guidelines for home selection and adoption application.

Meet little man Ziggy and he was born on April 2, 2016.(at the time of this writing was 7 months old) . He is 15 lbs and we believe him to be a pure Lhasa. We have his mother and saw his father.

The man who surrender he and his mother had recently had a stroke and could not care for all the dogs. He surrender two, to Duffy's Friends - Ziggy and his mother who is very sweet. Ziggy is ready for adoption as we neutered him, heart worm tested negative and received 3 vaccinations, kennel cough, distemper/parvo and rabies.

He is housebroken but as a 7 month old puppy should be crated at night and when you leave the house. He is very good if you follow the rules of owning a young dog and having positive outcomes using the crate. He crates very well and likes it. He goes right in at night and does not whimper or cause a fuss. He rides very well in the car, likes other dogs and is so happy when he can go for a walk. He is great on leash and a fun walking dog.

He is sweet and like dogs and would make a fine companion to someone that wants to raise a beautiful puppy. He was professionally groomed and Patty the groomer could not believe how well behaved he is for 5 1/2 months.
He is housebroken if you watch him and crate him when you are out of the house. This is one great dog.

The next step is to place an application in to our group so we may conduct an interview on the phone. You can find this application on our web site at www.duffysfriends.org. There is no oligation on either of our parts to move to the second step.
