Meet Reggie! He is a little guy with a big heart. We think he is a mix of Pit Bull and a perhaps a Beagle or other small hound. We rescued him from the Yakima Humane Society in August 2016.
He adores people and other dogs and gets along just fine with cats too. He weighs about 40 lbs and is around 1-2 years old. He has a little puppy playfulness about him still as he loves to race around his fosters backyard and will play with any dog that will play with him back. Reggie is very excitable when his foster parents get home and it is easy to get him in a playful mood when in the yard or at the park. But in the house, when the whole family is relaxing, Reggie is a calm and lazy boy, content to lounge next his foster siblings and people. It’s this temperament that we feel Reggie would make a great companion for a family. He would do great in a household with children and other dogs too.

Reggie lives with 3 other dogs and has been around countless others and has shown zero aggression or possession over food or toys. Although his friendliness can be a little overbearing and pushy and might annoy some dogs that don’t want the attention. But his intentions are good as he is very sweet and submissive, wanting nothing but to please his people and be loved. We are also convinced that Reggie is very bright. He is extremely responsive to human commands and comes immediately when called. He is also a quick and willing learner. Although sometimes his young age, excitement about training, and getting a reward can make it hard for him to focus, even though he clearly loves the training game! Though it might take a calm and patient parent, Reggie would respond very well to training.

Although we feel Reggie would do best in a home with a medium or large-sized yard. He can be quite lazy in the house, but too much time spent sedentary can get him wound-up. So he would need either regular walks or trips to a park, or a yard for him to run and play to get his energy out.

Reggie sleeps on a dog bed in his foster parents bedroom throughout the night, no crating required. He has not been crate-trained, so the couple times he has been crated he barks a lot at first and does not like it. However, we strongly feel that Reggie does not require crating as he is completely house-trained and non-destructive. Since coming to his foster home from the shelter, Reggie has never had an accident in the house.

Reggie is a sweet and spirited little guy and he is so ready to find his forever home!

Reggie's adoption fee is $225.
