Meet Lucy - FEB DOG OF THE MONTH!

Meet our dog of the month for February - Lucy! (Also referred to as "Goose" by her foster mom!) As our dog of the month, Lucy is eligible for $25 off of her adoption fee. They say you can't buy love, but you can pay an adoption fee.... and that means Lucy's fee is only $150!

We simply cannot believe Lucy hasn't found her people yet! She would be the best Valentine ever - loyal, loving, and willing to do whatever it is that you want to do. Want to snuggle on the couch? She's your girl. Throw a ball? Even better! She's even trustworthy - you could tell her all of your secrets, and she'd never tell another living soul. She follows the lead of her person - when you're ready to relax, so is she - but all you have to do is grab her leash and she's ready to join you!

This sweet girl is seriously a "Heinz 57." Her previous owner had her genetically tested to determine her breed, and she's a bit of everything!

Lucy feels a bit insecure meeting people and other dogs on leash, but she'll greet you with a wagging tail and a desire to learn off leash! Once she has met you and learns that you're not scary, she's totally fine to be near you on a leash - in fact, one of her favorite things to do is go on her daily walk with her foster mom and foster siblings! Once you pass the initial sniff test, she'll be happy to be around on a leash - so we simply recommend doing initial meetings off of a leash.

It took all of about 3 minutes for her to learn how to spin - seriously! This sweet girl will do anything to hear what a good girl she is - and a cookie, of course :) She has great manners - she knows not to jump on guests, she's fully housetrained, and she knows a few commands (Sit, Paw, Wait, etc.)

Lucy would love a forever home.... she's been waiting for a while, and we think she may be being overlooked because of her age, but she has a lot of life left to live! She's 9 years old - and if we hadn't seen the paperwork to confirm it, we never would have believed it.... she doesn't look it OR act it! We have all of her vet records, and she's been healthy as can be since day one.

Lucy is great with other dogs and wants to be on everyone's lap. Small children make her very nervous, so she needs a home with older children only.

Lucy would be a super fun dog to have - we have no doubts she could learn all sorts of impressive tricks. She could be the next YouTube sensation! It IS possible to teach an "old" dog (OK- let's call it like it is. She's middle aged!) new tricks. Lucy would be fun to bring to an "extra" training class like barn hunt or agility.... she is a super smart girl!

As if all of that isn't good enough, she is a wonderful snuggle partner. Who doesn't want a 45 pound lap dog? She'll keep you warm all winter, and will cool you down in the summer with her wagging tail. She is eager to please, and just wants a home to call her very own.

For more information and adoption applications (which must be completed to arrange a meeting) visit Rescued Treasures website at http://rescued-treasures.com/dog-application/. If you do not hear from our volunteers within 2 days, please email us at rescuedtreasuresadoptions@gmail.com.

Before applying for this dog, please think the decision over thoroughly and make sure the whole family is in agreement. Owning a dog is a huge responsibility that is not something that should be rushed into. Each dog from Rescued Treasures has been saved from an uncertain future. If you are thinking about adopting, please remember it is a LIFE-LONG commitment. Dogs can live to be at least 14 years old...are you ready to take care of him/her that long?
