Rip-ple... Domestic Medium hair spayed female; Sable Brown / Black... possible Burmese or Havana Brown in bloodline. She is about 5 years old as of July 2016.

This stunning girl looks to have some kind of Oriental bloodline, as her plush fur coat is a velvety chocolate / blackish color, with lots of smokey undertones... almost like perhaps Burmese (or even more so, that of the Havana Brown) may be in her lineage somewhere. She is beautiful, sweet, loving and loves to be petted!

Rip-ple was discovered by a gal who lives next door to an abandoned house in West Waterloo.

Rip-ple got her name from a very defined 'rip' in her right ear. Part of it is bent forward and the other 1/2 stands upright like her ear is supposed to. This only adds to her character and shows she is a little survivor and beat the odds of being another abandoned cat who was left outside to fend for herself.

12/16/16 UPDATE: Rip-ple went to a new foster home 2 days ago. She is doing great, explored right away, didn't hide. She's a talker. Haven't let her have the house yet. Just contained upstairs. And not fazed by the dogs...so far. She has also been very friendly to all of us. She is a great cat!

12/19/16 UPDATE: So finally got some good time with Ripple. From what I can tell right now she is very easy going. Not intimidated by the other animals. She is making friends with our cat. Touched noses with the pup. So a easy going dog would be ok for placement. She sleeps with our 11-year-old daughter. She is very talkative, she kinda has a chirp to her. This sweetie could fit into any home!

1/8/17 UPDATE: Rip-ple is awesome. Great personality and loved people and children. She absolutely loves dogs and gets along with them well.

2/24/17 UPDATE: Several weeks ago it was noticed that Rip-ple's belly was hard in one spot. Took her to the vet. They did blood work on her and the levels indicated she wasn't spayed properly. So she had surgery today. They found a small remnant of an ovary so that was removed. She is doing well and should not have any issues from this surgery.

5/11/17 UPDATE: Rip-ple loves dogs and people. She can co-exist in a home with other cats if given plenty of time. And also you will want to use from Jackson Galaxy a product called Peacemaker. Just a few drops each day. One bottle lasts several months. It helps tremendously with cats getting along! Here is a link to it so you can see: http://store.jacksongalaxy.com/product-p/peacemaker.htm

Rip-ple's adoption fee is $75.00. She was spayed on 7/14/16, she tested negative for both Feline Leukemia and FIV so her kittens will be too; she's had her FVRCP vaccination, her rabies vaccination and a Revolution parasite treatment. She has also been treated for worms.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
