Meet Hobbs

Hobbs is 17 pounds of adorable! He's about 7, we're not positive. He is a strong personality who needs people that will lead him in calm firm voices. Hobbs wants to please and will do anything to make you happy. He's good with dog savvy kids who won't be rough with him. He's good with dogs that are near his size or smaller. He's challenged by large dogs and gets defensive if they are reactive.
Hobbs hasn't been tested with cats.

From Hobbs foster mom: He's incredibly obedient and wants to please. He comes immediately when called and sits waiting for orders. He learned the routine and rules of our home within a couple of days and sticks to them. Hobbs is perfectly house trained. He asks to go out very clearly and holds it when you're not home. Never had a single accident. He walks nicely on the leash. He only barks to let everyone know someone is here. Once he sees that you are okay with the visitor, his work is done. He's very friendly to guests after the thumbs up from his owner.
He should never be managed too forcefully. He's eager to please and will follow commands but he has a line that, once he feels you have crossed, will make him challenge his handler. This is likely due to past abuse. He's prepared to defend himself. A calm, firm tone is all that is needed to keep Hobbs calm and cooperative. If his handler sounds too mean or angry, Hobbs loses confidence.
Hobbs is pretty entertaining, friendly and smart. He sings whenever he hears you sing, or whistle. He loves to play fetch, brings the ball (or soft toy) back and gives it over. He never tires of it.
He wiggles his entire back end when he's happy. When he greets, he doesn't jump. If he wants affection, he sits politely in front of you, puts his ears down and "asks".

Other than some old injuries to his eyes Hobbs is very healthy. He's been seen by an eye vet and other than healed scratches his eyes are healthy. He sees well but not perfectly. He has a bit of hearing loss from long untreated ear infections.
Hobbs is lively, loving and would thrive as an only dog or with non alpha dogs.

We have video of Hobbs singing but I can't get it to load. I'm going to try to load it on or website.
