Meet Huey the most beautiful Tibetan Terrier in the world. Who ever breed him knew what they were doing. He is a great dog and housebroken, loves other dogs and can live with confident cats that have experience. Adoption donation is $350.00

Have you read about Tibetan Terriers? They are stubborn as well as loving. They are dominant and can not be owned by the typical family. Yes, they look like over grown Shih Tzu's but they are not. They are a herding type breed and not a terrier at all. In fact, most people can not provide the guidance or the training for this breed. What happens is the dog suffers and gets passed around. We have his paperwork from the owners that surrender him and they thought he was a Lhasa Poo - we think he is a Tibetian Terrier mix.

This is exactly what Huey is going thru. We believe he was on his second owner and he is only one year old. He weighs 25 lbs and is lovely but has a mind of his own. The second owner was a senior couple and had no business getting a young dog that could not exercise correctly. So here we are - in rescue and a good one at that.

Must have dog obedience experience and willing to go to group lessons to learn who is in charge. Mild people will be taken advantage of. He is fun, likes to play and would enjoy a owner that was active. he can lay around and be quiet but that is not good for the breed as they like to move and get exercise.

The best home would be someone that has dog experience and has lost a dog to old age. We think he would do better as the only dog. He likes dogs! Don't think for one minute he is dog aggressive - he is not. He is living with a dominant female and will not tolerate her dominance. He lived with 4 neutered males and did fine! We are confident that moving to his forever home should be now the only dog. He needs 100% of your attention.

He will jump on you until you prove the leader.
He will walk fabulous on a leash, ride in a car and be wonderful for the groomer.
He is loving, affectionate and a great dog. BUT if you are not a leader this dog is not for you! You must have dog experience from a former dog that was dominate and willful.
He is wonderful dog just can't be owned by the typical family.
Call us if you have a fence, live in Rochester NY / certain parts of Buffalo and Syracuse.

So apply here at www.duffysfriends.org and remember if you click on the inquiry button we don't answer that email... just the people interested in learning more by talking with us. So fill out an application so we both can learn more.

Adoption donation is $350.00 and he is neutered, three vaccinations, heart worm negative and on preventative for flea and heart worm. Professionally groomed 4 weeks ago. He has a Duffy's Friends ID tag which you keep.
