Watch out, everybody! This is a high energy, intense dog. Mitch came from a situation where he was chained outside to a substandard doghouse all the time. The mail carrier -a dog lover - was concerned about him and arranged for him to come here as his owner knew he was not being properly cared for. Mitch is a sweet friendly dog and you can almost see him trying to be good! Mitch gets along well with females but I would not try to have him live with another male. Mitch needs someone who will work with him and give him a job to do. We walk him frequently and we are trying to get him trained to one of our dog scooters. It is taking a long time as he also shows evidence of having been harshly treated, and he is afraid of the jangling scooter and its harness so we are having to take his training extremely gradually. Mitch is going to require an experienced dog owner, and someone with some physical strength. We use a front-snap harness on him and he can still at times drag us along the road! Mitch is really a great dog and will blossom in the right home. He and Gunner actually look a lot alike but they are not related. It will be a great day when Mitch find his forever home! He is incredibly athletic and would make a great agility, Frisbee, or flyball dog with someone who knows how to train him.
