Meet Babie. This 6 year old girl was turned in to a shelter by her owner for reasons unknown. Sweet, shy Babie is enjoying a whole new life. Maybe a little sad, but comforted by physical closeness. After ten minutes of uninterrupted stroking, it’s clear she wants nothing more than for it to continue. Foster Mom says “one look in those eyes and I'm forced to oblige.” She plays it innocent, but she knows a sucker when she sees one. She is gentle and generally quiet, but she does have a youthful, playful side that comes out for her foster mom. She gets along with the other dogs and ignores cats. Babie likes to spend most of her time sitting next to her foster mom, following her six year old human child or sniffing around in the yard with her pug friend. Babie is a dream on the leash, so she would do best in a home with daily walks and someone that likes taking her on car rides! Babie has been around children of most ages (2 to 10) and seems to be very gentle and kind. In just a few weeks, she figured out the feeding and bedtime routine. Having another, well-trained dog around to show her the ropes will definitely help. She really looks to them for reassurance. You can see her watching all the human interactions and how our dog is reacting to us. Babie is very well behaved and does not need to be crated when home alone. Be prepared for her to jump in bed with you during thunderstorms - she is scared and needs the security of a Thunder Buddy (Ted movie reference). Whomever adopts this special girl is getting a fabulous companion, who will be extremely thankful that you made the commitment. Babie is available for adoption in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
