Gonzo Chihuahua Normal, IL

Say hello to Gonzo! I am a 1 year old Chihuahua who weighs a whopping 5 pounds! I love to be held (I am a great cuddler) and to explore the yard, plus he does well with cats and other dogs. Some of my favorite activities include playing with toys, chewing a bone or toy, sitting in a favorite lap, riding in a car and following his people around all day. I am friendly, playful, outgoing and loving little guy - am also house trained.

We noticed that Gonzo was crying out in pain when he reached out to take a treat so we took him to a chiropractic veterinarian to evaluate his condition. He has three points of injury to his spine that caused him pain and made him lash out- all of this was possibly caused by a mishandling of his tail. The good news is he is now on a mild painkiller and has had a couple of chiropractic adjustments - these have allowed Gonzo to feel much better and now he is learning not to anticipate pain when he is handled. The chiropractor thinks that he may benefit from periodic chiropractic adjustments. Still, Gonzo would do best in a quiet, patient home with an experienced owner and people over the age of 16 - hoping to find his forever home soon.

My adoption donation is of the adopter's choice plus a $10 fee for rabies registration with McLean County Animal Control (McLean County residents).

I have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and fecal checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
