Teddy Bear Yorkshire Terrier Chelsea, MA

Hi, I'm Teddy Bear! I'm a 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier weighing in at 13 lbs and looking for someone to love me for me. I love to be near my people and will snuggle nicely once I get to know you. I walk nicely on a leash, but I don't necessarily love other dogs. I might be able to live with a small, laid back dog that respects my space. I tolerate my neighbor's dog but that took a bit of getting used to. I'm happy to lay on my bed or on the couch until it is time to eat. I love food!

Although I am very cute, I don't love to be handled by people I am unfamiliar with. I would like to live someplace quiet, because lots of people and other dogs coming and going all the time can really stress me out. My perfect home is with adults only. I would love an owner who has patience to teach me how to trust humans and is familiar with the Terrier personality. My adopters should understand that I have some fear of new people and situations and get very nervous so I need some socialization work and positive reinforcement. I have a tendency to guard my high value items as well as some of my favorite people, which is why I am looking for a strong willed person who can work with me to become the confident dog I know I can be!

I am housebroken, and I'm okay with being left alone during the workday. Currently my foster mom works all day and I just relax in my bed. I am pee-pad trained. I tend to guard my crate so instead, I am baby-gated in the bathroom while my foster mom is gone.
