Riley Feathers Black Labrador Retriever & Shepherd Mix Worcester, MA

Riley Feathers wants to meet you! Riley is an eight (8) year old black lab/shepherd mix. He has spent the last few months recovering from heart-worm, and now, at a hearty 70 pounds, has received the all clear from his vet! In three words his foster mom says he's an "amazingly sweet dog".

Riley loves every person, and every cat he's ever met. In fact, he loves cats so much(and the feeling is mutual!) that the cats at his foster family's house often sneak into Riley's room to snuggle with him every night! He would like to be the only dog in his new home, and isn't very interested in playing with other dogs while outside.

Riley has impeccable leash manners. He is "so gentle" that as soon as he feels the slightest tug he simply stops. Favorite activities include playing ball-- he thinks his ball is the greatest thing in the world! Sometimes Riley jump ups, because he gets excited- he stands up and then touches you with this paws, "pet me!" he seems to be asking. Riley is a lover of treats, and has been known to sneak treats from hands. For this reason he'd be best in a home with children over ten years old.

While Riley's not fond of his crate, he will happily go in for food or treats, though he'd much rather stretch out on the queen size bed and take up as much of it as possible!

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
