Meet Missy

Hi! My name is Missy. Everyone says I’m a “terrier mix.” I think that is
the fallback description when they can’t think of anything else. My coat does
have that silky Yorkie texture and my face looks a bit like a Border terrier.
Isn't it the cutest face you have ever seen? My foster Mom says it is. I’m about
two years old so my seven pounds will be as large as I get. I may be small but
this little body packs a lot of love and energy. I’m still very much a puppy
but I’m old enough not to have those annoying puppy behaviors. Okay, I’ll admit
I will move the occasional shoe from one spot to another but I don’t chew on
them. I’d much rather have a bully stick or a buffalo ear to chew. When I was
rescued with my “hubby” Jack and our two puppies, I didn’t know what a puppy
cookie or chew was. I know now! When my foster Mom or Dad hand out treats, I
admit I race to the front of the line. I’m still learning to play with toys and
balls that I can’t eat. I play well with my foster brother and sisters. They
are all bigger than I am but I love to play chase or wrestle with them. My
favorite game is to sneak up from the rear and nip at their tail. They don’t
like the game as much as I do. I’ll do really well in a house with other dogs
but I believe I’d also make a wonderful companion in a single dog home. I love
to snuggle in my foster Mom’s lap. I never tire of ear and tummy rubs. I’m not
sure how I’d do with cats or kids as we don’t have either at my foster home. I
think it might be fun to have my own kid if they were to give lots of attention
and play time. I am “house trained.” I use the dog door. I love the backyard.
I will go outside and play by myself if I can’t get anyone else to go with me.
I try my best to keep the squirrels out of the pecan tree. In case you don’t
know, squirrels don’t really play fair. My foster Mom says that I’m a really
great dog with no bad habits. I’m a really quite little girl who barks very
little. My bark is more of a squeaky toy sound. I’m really ready for my
“furever” home. My first year has been a little rough but I'm ready to put that
behind me. Will you be the lucky person who gets to adopt me? Please fill out
an application so we can get together for a face to face meeting.

Adoption Fee $350

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5..

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws, please visit our website at www.lilpaws-malteserescue.org and fill out an adoption application. This is the first step in our adoption process. Our goal is to place our dogs in safe, stable and loving homes in the Austin Metropolitan area. Thanks for looking!

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery. Because of the cost of this care, donations are essential to enable us to continue our work. If you would like to show appreciation for what we do and help us continue to do it please go to our website homepage and click the donate button. We thank you in advance for your support.
