Poppy was turned into our rescue due to his owners health problems.
Poppy loves people and constantly wags his tail.

Poopy has been diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur. Murmurs are graded 1-6, 6 being severe. This can be a common condition and most likely a hereditary condition.

He is cautious around other dogs, it is unknown how he reacts to cats.
Poppy may do okay living with one other small mild mannered dog that doesn't want to interact with Poppy. Poppy really would enjoy being the only dog as his passion is love toward people not other animals.

Poppy does not care for children and would like a home with adults only.

He enjoys sleeping in a crate and will often go there on his own.
He loves to cuddle and sleep with people. He enjoys and wants to be near people.

Poppy appears to be somewhat house trained, although he is on a schedule of going outside every 3-4 hours. He does sleep through the night with out any accidents.

JCCARE Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.

If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a furever home.

JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
