Meet Shrek! Shrek is a happy 4 year old Chihuahua that dances around the house every chance he gets! He loves snuggling in blankets in his crate, but when it is time to play, he loves toys and trotting all over. He is great with the two dogs in his foster home, as well as the cat in his foster home.

Shrek has some typical Chihuahua personality traits. Specifically, he is fearful in new environments, and may act out. When we transferred him from a shelter to a foster home, he did exceptionally well, but it took his foster parents two days of getting him acclimated and building his trust. Fortunately little Shrek loves cold cuts! But once he was comfy, his sassy personality shone through. Shrek’s ideal home would be with people who know and love the Chihuahua breed, and don’t have kids at home full time. Shrek can comfortably hang out in his crate if little ones are coming over to visit.

Shrek came to us after his owner passed away. A great home for him would be with or without other dogs, and could give him a chance to show his true self.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
