Sammy is a very special young man. He is a one-year-old, purebred Tibetan Terrier who was surrendered to rescue because he was born with only half of one of his front legs. Since Sammy was born this way, he doesn't have any idea he might be missing anything and lives life as any four-legged dog would. He plays with his foster brother and sisters, he runs up and down steps and zooms around the backyard. He's a happy, fun-loving fellow whose only limitation is not being able to jump in and out of an SUV.

Sammy didn't initially receive a lot of attention as a puppy growing up with several other Tibetan Terriers in his breeder's home. However, we are happy to report that he is really blossoming in his foster home and is loving life. He is a little timid at first, but quickly warms up to visitors and friends. He's being fostered with a four-year-old little girl, who he enjoys very much and three other dog foster siblings. He LOVES playing with other dogs. Sammy has never been around cats that we know of.

He is doing well with his potty training and does just fine in a crate as he spent much time in one before making his way into rescue. Since being in foster care, he has been given the freedom to roam and spend his days uncrated and has done beautifully. His foster mom describes him as a great dog who is smart, sweet, easy, low key and family friendly. Sammy has already learned a couple of basic commands since being in foster care and will do anything for a treat!

Sammy is a year old and weighs in at 35 pounds, and that's where we expect him to stay size wise.
