Meet Pup Pup (Pending!)

Pup Pup is an 18 month ShihTzu/Poodle mix puppy. He is so sweet and outgoing and loves loves loves kids! He needs some consistency in his life, he has been passed around a couple of times.
"Pup-pup is a sweet young, playful dog with a gentle spirit and surprisingly large bark! He is a Shih Tzu/ Poodle mix and will require regular grooming to keep his coat maintained. He is under 2 years old, and in this time he has been passed through several homes. Because of this instability, he has some separation anxiety issues and can be timid in new situations and around new people. Once he feels secure in a home he bonds well with his person and loves spending time with them. He is what is considered a Velcro dog, and is rarely more than a few feet from his person, loves to sit on laps, and wants to sleep on the people bed at night curled up under the blankets next to his favorite human.
Pup would do best in a home with either another dog to keep him company or with a person home the majority of the time. He gets very anxious when left alone and can be very loud. Because of this, a home with shared walls would probably not be in his best interest. Pup is also a candidate for a fenced yard as he absolutely loves to run at full speed as often as possible. He is also an escape artist, so his fence needs to be well secured or his people need to make sure he is securely leashed whenever he sets foot outside. (He snuck out the door under his foster mom’s feet one day and ran full speed down the driveway and into the path of an oncoming truck. He then led her on a rousing game of chase though the neighbor’s yards.) Because of his escapee tendencies, any open doors need to be well watched to make sure he doesn’t slip out and any children in the home will need to understand how dangerous this could possibly be.
Because Pup was passed around so often, he is still working on his house training. When put on a schedule with someone paying attention to him, he does pretty well and is learning fast."

Before our dogs are made available for adoption, we ensure that their medical needs such as spay, neuter, routine shots, teeth cleaning, etc. have been met.

Because we want successful adoptions and need to be sure that both you and our dog we will be a good fit for each other, you will need to provide personal and vet references and allow a home visit.

The adoption donation for this dog is $350. All donations go directly to our ever-mounting vet bills. Thanks to a large network of rescue volunteers, out-of-state adoptions can be arranged. If by some chance the adoption does not work out, Peke N Chin Midwest will take the dog back.

If you have questions about any of our dogs, please contact Heidi Eckers and she will provide you with information.

MESSAGE:
Thank you for your support. If you have thought about volunteering and providing a temporary home to a rescue dog, we would love to discuss our foster program with you. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can help. The rewards are tremendous. Check our website for details.

IMPORTANT:
Please note that we never say our kids are 100% potty trained. Pets have accidents and this may be especially true with all the changes these foster dogs go through. They will need you to be patient, understanding, and willing to work with them. Earning their trust may take several days to several months. This is a period of adjustment, not just for the new family member but for everyone in the household. They need a lifetime commitment. The unconditional love they will give you in return will make it all worth it.
