Roxy Labrador Retriever & Boxer Mix Butler, NJ

Meet Roxy! Roxy is a 6 month old tricolor lab and boxer mix that just arrived at our Butler shelter. Roxy didn't have the best start in life as she was a stray on the streets of East Orange. Someone rescued her off of the streets but she was then tied up on a chain in a yard and she was never let into the home. A rescue then saved her from the situation she was in and she has now made her way to our shelter. Roxy never had a chance to be a happy puppy and now she is finally getting that opportunity. Roxy is so excited to be off of her chain and she is now enjoying her freedom and to be able to play fetch, splash around in the kiddie pool at our shelter, and run around to her heart's content. Roxy is very energetic and playful and the ideal owner for her would be someone that is very active and loves to go on hikes, run, or do any other activities. Roxy would also love a fenced in yard to play fetch and run in so she can burn off her puppy energy. Roxy walks very nicely on a leash as she doesn't pull at all. She also gets along nicely with the other dogs at our shelter so she would do well in home with another dog or around children ages 8 and up. Roxy already knows her basic commands like sit, stay, down,and leave it as she is very smart and eager to learn how to do new things so she would do really well with further training. She is also up to date on all of her vaccinations and she is a healthy young dog. Roxy didn't have the greatest start in life but now our volunteers are giving her all of the love and affection that she so rightfully deserves. Roxy now needs a forever family to come along and show her just how great her life can be as she wants nothing more than to give that love back in return!
