Meet Bella

Bella has had a horrible life and it started in summer of 2015 when the shelter had to get a court order for the landlord to unlock the door to get the cat into safety. Apparently the owners left her in the apartment or house and she could be seen from the window. The shelter said she was there about 3 weeks or more without food. She was out of time at the shelter and we took her into our program. She only has 1/2 of a tail and we did not think much about that at the time. We thought perhaps she might be part manx. She is a Siamese mix with blue eyes and calico points and she is not only sweet - but a nice looking gal.

Bella was not acting right in her foster home and we took her to the vet. It was found that she had an prior accident and the tail is broken off at the spine. Bella has always when using the litter box - leave one small piece of stool a few yards away from her litter box. The reason is because she has a hard time without the tail being a part of this process. It was severed during the accident and she might have nerve damage. It is a daily event as she does not have the power to present manure without the tail being part of the process. A extra big litter box would be great for this gal and while walking it will drop.

She is loving, likes other cats and would like to another cat to play with. She had a another cat for a friend and loved her very much. They were both up for adoption and while waiting for a home became good friends. The other cat found a home after a few months. We found Bella to be so sad at the lost of her friend that she went into a depression. We felt so bad for her. We took her to the vet and It all lead to the to finding out what really happened to Bella. This was a blessing as now we know Bella needs a home that will understand she has an injury.

The writer of this profile has been in rescue a very long time and can tell you this cat is very special and the accident was most likely a dog attack. If she had been hit by a car I don't think she would have lived to tell about it. Also, as you will see from the x-ray - it looks like something got her and what happened to the rest of her tail as she only has 1/2 of it. I am confident this was a dog attack.

Bella is now 2 years old and has been waiting for almost 12 months for a home. She is spayed, tested and has all her vaccinations. She is on high fiber food and the diet is not a special diet. You can buy high fiber cat food at a pet store.

We are waiving her donation as she is a special needs kitty. Please email us below and we will set up a meet and greet.. Please email us at duffysfriends@gmail.com. We use Pilots N Paws and can get this cat anywhere in the US for a good home that will love and adore her.
