Meet Jillian

We thought Jillian had a home lined up, but due to a major illness in the family, her new mom is not going to be able to adopt her after all, so she is once again looking for a quiet home.

Jillian is a super sweet Beagle who came into our care after being found as a stray in Brockton. We are guessing she is about 7 years old and she looks like she had many litters of puppies. She is now spayed and is looking forward to a life of leisure. She loves other dogs and is playful with them. She completely ignores cats. She is nervous in new situations, and quite timid around men, but settles in after a day or two and really enjoys her walks and attention. She seems to be completely housebroken. She was very nervous the first few days in a foster home, so will need a calm and patient family. She would do well in a home willing to give her time to settle in and would likely be happiest in a home with no young kids even though she is very gentle. As she settles in at the shelter she is starting to show her playful side, including playing with toys.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Jillian's adoption fee is $150. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
