Meet Mr. Scruffles

Remember Mr. Scruffles? The dog from last year that was abandoned in a dry goods storage unit and when found was in heart, liver and kidney failure, riddled with bot flies and maggots and dealing with serious skin issues? Well here he is today and he is healthy, happy, and ready for adoption!

Mr. Scruffles is about 4 years young, good with other dogs but best with female a to keep him in line. He is not good with cats but loves every person he meets. We do not suggest small children as he is pretty silly, loves to jump up, and can be a bit mouthy. He is not in an aggressive way (just playful.) Scruffles is working on basic obedience and finishing up on his house manner skills, but he is very smart and willing to learn and please. A fenced yard would be best and a family that is active and fun and that can provide an unlimited amount of toys to play with.

Mr. Scruffles will need to remain on a special diet for the remainder of his life. The food is moderately priced and additional goodies that include pumpkin, carrots and veggies for a high fiber, limited ingredient food.

APPLY TO ADOPT: The first step of the process is to submit an ADOPTION application.

Link to adoption application: http://aussieandme.org/adopting.html

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email outlining our adoption procedures. You MUST respond back to the email for us to continue with your application. You should hear from the Adoption Committee within 5-10 days, if your application is approved. This is sometimes delayed if we are unable to reach your references. We ask that you please include email addresses for personal references whenever possible. The answers you give on your application will help us to find the best possible match between you and the dogs available through AUSSIE AND ME ANIMAL RESCUE (“AAMAR”).

ADOPTION/DONATION FEE: The standard adoption fee is $350 for adults 13 months and over and $400 for puppies 12 months and younger. Adoption fees may vary in unique situations.

Your donation is utilized to fund essential care, ensuring that our dogs have a healthy life and find loving homes. All dogs are tested for heartworms, ehrlichiosis, and Lyme disease. They will be brought up-to-date on vaccinations, treated for parasites, and micro chipped. Dogs are spayed or neutered unless age or health conditions are a factor, and also receive monthly heartworm and flea preventatives while in our care. Your new companion will come with an adoption goodie bag to take home, as well as, a new leash and martingale collar.

AAMAR Foundation is a non-profit organization and your donation may be tax deductible. We are an all volunteer staff.

FOSTERS: Not quite ready to adopt?
Aussie and Me is always looking for safe and loving foster homes for our dogs and puppies while they undergo preliminary vet care and wait for their forever homes.
