Meet Buck

Buck is a big young chocolate lab mix (we're guessing at the Chesapeake Bay Retriever as the mix), around 1-2 years old. He loves to be out of the kennel running around in the play yard and also enjoys a good back scratch. Although strong, he does walk fairly nicely on leash. Buck has had successful play dates with other dogs here at the shelter - he gravitates towards mellow friendly, non-threatening types.. His initial cat tests were OK, but when swatted by a feisty cat he reacted negatively. Buck arrived at the shelter tied in the back of a pickup truck scared and confused and we can't blame him for that! Although he is still somewhat shy when first approached, we've found him to be a big mush once he gets to know people. Because of his shyness, we think he'd be best suited to a quiet adult home.
