Meet Blondie, a beautiful long haired Chihuahua who is looking for a forever home. This little girl has a loving spirit and wants to find a family to adore her.

CRT was contacted by the Irving animal shelter in late February. There was a family who had fallen on hard times and could no longer care for their Chihuahua which had been in their family for 10 years. They had dropped the Chihuahua off
at the shelter and begged them to find her a good home. When the shelter called us to enlist our help, we just had to say "yes". We drove over and picked her up right in the nick of time -- the ice storm hit about 2 hours later so that little girl would have been snowed in the shelter for several days if we had not acted immediately!

From the moment we picked up this girl, we fell in love with her. She was wagging her tail so hard when we came to get her that we thought she might float up in the air like a helicopter! And she had the biggest smile on her face. She knew we would protect her and find the right family for her.

Blondie is a laid back, sweet little girl. She loves her humans more than anything. She loves to be petted and loves belly rubs. She will wiggle with joy as you are petting her to let you know how pleased she is. Blondie then has a sweet habit of climbing up in the chair behind you and draping herself across the back of your neck as you watch TV. She finds it so comforting to be that close to her human that she will fall asleep on your shoulders! She also love to cuddle and sleep in bed with you at night.

Blondie gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. Blondie doesn't play much with toys, but enjoys interacting with the other small dogs. She has learned to use the doggie door and loves to go in and out so she can lay in the sun! Imagine how her tan and white coat glow in the sun each day - she is so beautiful.

Blondie has not had the best dental hygiene to date, and because of this she only has a few teeth left. This does not bother her at all, but we do feed her soft healthy food in order to help her in that area. She is potty trained and will use pee pee pads if needed.

Blondie is about 10 years old. Except for her teeth, our vet says she is in terrific shape. Her energy level is at the level of a 5 to 6 year old dog! Many Chihuahuas live to be 15 - 18 years old. With her health report, we believe there are many happy years ahead for Blondie and her new family.

Because of Blondie's laid back personality, she would do great as an only dog. She also would do great with one to two smaller dogs in the home. She is friendly with everyone and is longing for another family to love.

Blondie is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
