Every day for a month, Emerald 's foster mom would see Emmie sitting in the attic window of the foreclosed house across the street. The first time Emmie's foster mom saw her in the window, she called Frederick County Animal Control, and they immediately came to the foreclosed house to try to rescue Emmie. But the house was locked, and it took two weeks for the bank to respond to Animal Control's urgent phone calls and give them access to the house. Clearly traumatized by her experience, Emmie hid from the Animal Control officers and eluded their attempts to trap her, all the while making regular appearances in the attic window and prompting great distress for her well-being from the people living across the street. Happily, Animal Control was eventually successful, and Emmie is now being fostered by one of the folks who had worried so much about her. Still shy but getting more confident every day, Emmie is turning into a little love bug and takes every opportunity to crawl into her foster mom's lap for a snuggle. Emmie is approximately three years old, has been spayed, vaccinated, and feleuk/fiv tested and would make someone a devoted, affectionate companion.
