Valentino Rat Terrier Mix Murray, KY

Valentino was an owner surrender directly into foster care with the Humane Society. He is 3-4 months old and already housebroken. He weighed 8.4 lbs. on 2/6/15 and will remain a small dog. He has the body of a mini-dachshund and the coloration of a terrier. He is very friendly with his foster family and is getting along well with both men and women. He plays rough with the cat but is learning appropriate behavior with her. He has a terrier personality and is always on the move. When excited, he loves to let you know he has found something interesting with his little yips. He is doing well in a crate and is learning to walk on a leash/halter. He interacts well with people and has visited the Humane Society office. He played well with another little terrier although he is young and needs to learn boundaries. He is current on all of his vaccinations, has been wormed, and is on flea prevention. His adoption donation will be $175 with $75 refunded to you upon proof of his neuter at 6 months. Dog Adoption Guidelines:
 

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can fill out an application at www.forthepets.org/adoption.htm or email to humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application.
It is not a "first come" process; we try to "match" the dog with the family for a FOREVER home. We process all applications at once and take the dog off the site, place on adoption pending status until a decision is made. If a suitable home is not found, the dog returns to active status.
The dog adoption process can take about two weeks; we are a small group of volunteers who have full time jobs.
All of our dogs are indoor dogs with outdoor privileges, unless otherwise specified.
We do not fly or ship our dogs due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the dog back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.
If you apply to adopt a dog and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the dog and fill out the paperwork in person.
We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport.
We can't provide individual "meet and greet" sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have time to visit with the dog before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
