Gus Pomeranian & Terrier Mix Pleasant Hill, CA

This adorable little Pomeranian mix is looking for his human best friend!

It would be a challenge even for the strongest of wills to not fall in love with this furry little face, and who could blame them? Gus has a way of stealing hearts with those pleading eyes and snuggly, spunky personality. A good little munchkin, one of Gus's favorite pastimes is curling up on your lap at night and he doubles as office help for you too - yep, Gus likes to help you when you're busy typing away on the computer. Any chance he can get to be around you he'll take! He loves to play with his toys and happily tosses them around to himself, then pounces on them with 16lbs. of pure enjoyment! He loves to go on adventures and is always up for a car ride (where he'll typically call shotgun) - he's always up for new places and new faces.

Gus is estimated to be 1 year of age and is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He came in to the public shelter as a stray dog and no one ever came back for him, but that's lucky for us and for you! Our best guess is that this little guy is a Pomeranian/Papillon/Terrier something-or-other who's the perfect mixture of cute. He lives in a great foster home with pre-teen kids, dogs and cats. Not knowing how this little guy was handled in his previous home, he can be initially shy and reacts somewhat fearfully and nervously to aversive corrections and abrupt handling. Positive reinforcement training works wonders though! He'll mark his territory in a new environment (hey, somebody's gotta be top dog!) but is potty trained and just needs to adapt to a new routine in his adoptive home, as is true of all dogs. We think he'll do great in a small-dog savvy home, preferably as an only dog where he doesn't feel the competition of other animals - we think this little guy would love to be your spoiled one & only! He's an adorable fluffy bundle of affection and love and deserves a happy family of his own. And if you have a lap, you've crossed 75% of his needs off your list!
