Meet TUCKER
TUCKER: younger poodle maybe shih tzu mix: 2-3 years, 14 lbs approx
He was found by a good samaritan on Columbus Day of 2014, very frightened, matted, and hungry. Steve took him in and took him to a vet to be cleaned up: Valley Vet in Vacaville. They neutered him and gave him shots, but he didn't do well being boarded and needed to be in a home, so they gave him back to Steve. According to the vet, Many scabs were found after grooming. Following his clean up a cheerful lovable dog began to emerge.
A Multicolored Shih-Tzu mixed with Poodle, Tuck is extremely smart, and responds well to treats. He is an indoor pet but enjoys his daily walks through the neighborhood, even if it’s just to the mailbox. When rewarded for good behavior Tuck will dance around your feet....
Good with other dogs, minds well, good temperament, very cuddly, a delightful, very happy little dog, dances with his feet. He is very attached to Steve, and Steve really likes Tucker, but he has two huge young Great Danes that play very rough, and he is concerned they will hurt him. As a result he is in a dog crate eleven hours a day while Steve is at work Monday through Friday. At night he sleeps in the bedroom with Steve.
Tuck can be somewhat shy around new people, and have some anxiety when introduced to new people or situations. Tuck may have an occasional accident or mark his territory but he is crate-trained. Since Tuck is a small dog with a small bladder, it is advised that he be encouraged to go outside at least twice a day. Tuck is also very protective of his master’s and his surroundings if he senses anything amiss.
