Meet Rosie
Rosie has been transferred to the Animal Rescue League's Brewster branch.
Rosie is a very sweet medium-sized (50 lbs.) dog that needs a new home because she was too energetic for her family and too nervous around their crawling and running children who were allowed to pull on her ears and tail. She loves to run and play outside and enjoys playing with toys and going for walks. She is very affectionate and our volunteers all love her.
She needs a family with the time to exercise her, and a commitment to continue working with her on her training. She is a sweet 4-year-old dog but not a good fit for a house with toddlers. She came to us protective of rawhide and bones, but is learning to share thanks working with professional dog trainer, Kate Brady, who generously volunteers her time. Kate has also trained our volunteers to make sure Rosie is trained consistently every day. Kate thinks Rosie is a great dog and is making great progress with her possessiveness.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new
Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
