Bella came to us from a larger shelter where she was surrendered by her owner. The shelter was shocked how poorly the family treated her: keeping her tied to a banister in a hallway, never taking her out for a walk and allowing a child to mistreat her. It is amazing that Bella wants anything to do with people at all after having that kind of home. Reportedly found in a box as a puppy she in now just over 1 year old and before coming into the shelter had never had any vet care, treats, bed or anything every pet deserves to have. Due to how scared she is and her history of being mistreated by a child, we will not place her in a home with kids younger than 13.

In just a few days with us she has become a happy and playful dog. She loves walks and absolutely loves all the toys she was given. She is starting to dance and prance when you let her out of her kennel and just soaks up attention. It is amazing to see the difference in her behavior.

Bella is looking for a patient home that knows she will take months of care so a quiet home without small children. She did live with another small breed dog that she got along with when they were allowed off their chains.

Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
