"SPECIAL NEEDS BOXER"- Needs the right home for her needs. Prefer experience with a special needs dog. Campus needs an adopter close by so we can slowly transition her to her new home.

* 3/11/20- Moved to HOSPICE since being diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and low thyroid. She has been in rescue for 3.5 years and will stay with her foster home who are taking good care of her.

* 2/10/20- CAMPUS's thyroid recheck has not changed and can take 6-8 weeks. She hasn't got worse so that is good. She goes back to the Vet in 2 weeks for recheck. She is afraid to go out if raining, stormy or cold, so hard to tell if the Incurin is helping and have accidents in the house.

* 1/24/20- On MEDICAL HOLD as having hair loss on ears, legs and backend and scabbing on her ears. Thyroid test showed low thyroid and now on a daily thyroid pill, Vitamin E, Doxycycline, Niacinamide, and Udder Balm to soothe her ears. She returns in 2 weeks for recheck. Still leaking from incontinence.

* 12/30/19- CAMPUS went to training today at PetsMart. We see less anxiety with the Adaptil collar she has worn for 2 weeks. Of course she is still reserved and unsure out of her foster home but we did see a little improvement. She needs to go to Vet for dental and the incontinence that is not resolved.

* 12/20/19- CAMPUS still having some urine leakage on Incurin and Rimadyl. We are trying an Adaptil collar to see if helps with her anxiety as leakage could be medical or behavioral.

* 9/5/19- Today Campus, 48.65 lbs., had her Annual Exam, shots, and a ProHeart 12 for 12 months of heartworm prevention. She is fecal and heartworm negative and a healthy gal, but is on Proin and Incurin for Incontinence and still has some leaking and some days no leaking.

* 8/12/19- She is taking Proin and Incurin once a day for incontinence. She is still having times she leaks and not sure is emptying her bladder. She is off Rimadyl. She doesn't always act like she is feeling well. She goes back to Vet on 9/5/19 for her Annual Exam and review her progress on meds for incontinence.

* 7/20/19- She started leaking on Incurin once the level was reduced to 1/2 a pill daily so she had to go back to 2 a day and reduce down again. She is still on Rimadyl to help with pain. She is gaining weight around her waist from the hormones and being a little cranky.

* 6/19/19- Campus still leaking urine, not feeling well and acts like in pain. Vet did xrays which showed mild hip dysplasia. Trying Rimadyl to see if that helps her pain. Proin is not working for the incontinence and was changed to Incurin.

*6/10/19- ON MEDICAL HOLD- Campus went to Vet again for excessive urination. She was diagnosed with Urinary Incontinence and is on meds to stop the leakage. We hope in 2 weeks she is doing better as she is lethargic and not feeling well. She will have to be on meds the rest of her life.

* 11/8/18- CAMPUS, 8 years old, (estimated dob 11/3/10), 45 lbs.,has been with us for 2+ years. She is a sweetheart. She is easily startled and will run to her crate in her Foster Home. She is adorable and the sweetest girl who needs her special needs met. We love her and love to see her smile! Her past history was in a puppy mill and she will always have issues. The right home hasn't been found. She could run and may not get her back when she gets scared and doesn't like thunnder, fireworks or loud noises. It takes her long time to trust, no aggression seen, but she will shut down.

In Sept., she had her annual exam, shots updated, heartworm/fecal negative and a ProHeart shot. In March, she got her ProHeart. She had teeth cleaned and one molar removed as it was infected.

She likes the other dogs, cats, and kids in her foster home but doesn't interact with them. She will cuddle with them when she feels safe. She needs routine and structure and not for everyone as not a normal Boxer. She needs a companion dog who is friendly to be her buddy. If there are kids, she needs older kids with dog experience and who are respectful of her needs . She prefers when not chaotic in her home or she may stay in her crate until feels safe to come out. She is doing better and getting on the couch with the family.

She loves going to Home Depot to walk around. Yet is scared when is picked up to go to training and scared a lot at PetsMart, but then will let certain people usually women pet her. She has a lot of fear that has improved since we first got her. Foster Dad reported that a couple of months ago she is getting excited when he gets home from work by jumping around with the other dogs. She went to PetsMart for training lesson after not going for several months, and we again had to carry her out of the house and acted like she didn't know the Director once again. She is not a good traveler. She shook all the way to PetsMart, got out of the van, and walked into PetsMart and took Director right to the training room. She is always looking for somewhere to hide like in an igloo or in the area with the cashier. We can't get her to react to any toys or animals in the store. She is very cautious. She looks like smiling sometimes but is probably anxiety. Best home for her is one without young kids as less chaos is best for her and someone who is home a lot. She is afraid of storms and knows before they get there. She has to have a friendly dog about her size for a buddy and to help her confidence. At times she will not move and you physically need to be able to move her if needed like in and out of a car or home. She does find safety in her crate so needs to be available. She sleeps in a crate as has accidents if gets scared and afraid to not be in there. She is a flight risk as if gets scared can be gone quickly.

6/23/17- UPDATE: CAMPUS, 6 years old, beautiful brindle female, 47 lbs, is a smaller Boxer and takes her time to warm up to you. She came back to us on 9/2/16. She has special needs related to bad puppy mill in her past. She gets scared easily and can run if not on leash and may not get her back. She is not aggressive and likes dogs that are not in her face barking and cats/kittens. Best home for her is not chaotic and not little kids making loud noises. This includes no future babies or little kids. Campus needs another friendly non dominant dog in her home to help her confidence and be her buddy. She takes patience as doesn't move e.g. when you want her to move to another room or get in and out of a car. She is not for everyone and new home needs to meet her needs. She will get on the couch with you or with dogs and cats when calm and feels secure. She is housetrained, cratetrained and feels safe in her crate. She likes to go for walks and once you get going she is great on the harness. She does need to be crated when you are not home. She can have accidents if she gets scared.
