.**We would love to talk to you about Ollie or any of our other available dogs but we first need everyone to go to our website and submit an adoption application.

My Story: Ollie was found by a kind stranger when he showed up in the family's back yard. After a long search for his family turned up nothing, Ollie was surrendered to JCCARE. His age is estimated to be a year to a year and a half. He loves to play with his stuffed toys and to roll a ball around on the floor. He has learned to fetch his toys back and will sit nicely and ask yo to toss them for him. Ollie is just about housebroken (he uses puppy pads and will go outside if taken on a schedule) and is crate trained. He enjoys playing with his foster family's dogs. Riding in the car is also a fun activity for Ollie. When he stops playing, he likes to sit on his Foster Mom's feet or sit under her chair or snuggle next to her on the couch for a night of watching tv. Ollie doesn't know a stranger, he loves everybody. He's a good snuggle buddy and loves to nuzzle his face into his foster Mom's when he says hello.

During the time Ollie has been with his foster Mom, he has learned "sit", "leave it", "speak", "down", "go to your crate" and he has learned to retreive! He's a Japanese Retriever! = ) He's pretty good with recalll and comes bounding back when his foster Mom calls him. He walks well on the leash too! He's gotten the nickname of "balls", since those are his favorite toy. He loves to carry them everywhere he goes.

Health: Ollie is up to date on vaccines, is heartworm negative, neutered and ready for his "furever home". While being a healthy young dog, our Ollie is a Hydrocephalic dog (very mild case). For him it is NO BIG DEAL! This condition can happen in breeds of dogs with larger round heads and smooshie faces. His case is very mild as he was probably born this way. This means that his eyes jitter and he walks funny sometimes (we find it adorable!), if he gets really excited and happy he will sometimes forget his house manners, but he doesn't mind wearing a belly band and has made huge improvements. Ollie has adjusted to life as he knows it, it doesn't slow him down and he is a very happy dog with a constantly wagging tail. Dogs with Hydrocephalis usually live a fairly normal life and adjust to their little "quirks". Ollie has certainly done that. Ollie has a very mild form of Hydrocephalus and isn't requiring any medical attention.

My Ideal Home: Ollie is a busy guy with lots of energy for a family (if kids, over the age of ten) who are looking for an active dog. He enjoys the company of dogs who enjoy the company of playful puppies with lots of energy! He would love a playmate to romp and play with. His home will require a fenced in yard and needs to be located within 3 hours of Atlanta, GA

Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.

If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a furever home.

JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
