Meet Django
Django was adopted last year by a mom with a young child. As a single mom also attending college, time and financial resources have now led her to make the difficult decision to give up this cute 40 lb. pup. He is approximately one year old and we are guessing at the breed mix. His previous owner said he has many great qualities such as getting along great with all dogs (he used to attend doggie daycare) and being great with all people including children. He also loves going for rides in the car and going on lots of walks. He was very well-behaved when he went to our vet for a check up. He is crate trained, neutered and up-to-date on all vet care. He is a happy dog, but can get frightened by loud noises.
What he doesn't like is having his feet touched or having special items like a real bone taken away except by his immediate family. Django was taken to a vet office for his nail trims so that he was not stressed by having his owner cut his nails.Because he is new to the shelter, until we get to know him we will be looking to place him in a home with children 10 and above only.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new
Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
