Meet Dolly
This very pretty large Labradoodle was found in Medfield on 9/29. She was seen running around the Route 27 area from the Sherborn line all the way to the State Hospital for a few days before being brought to the Medfield Shelte by the animal control officer. In spite of all our efforts to locate her owners, no one came forward to claim her and she is now up for adoption with us. She is approximately 18-months-old.
Dolly is very smart, playful and sweet, but can be mouthy and rambunctious, so would not be a good fit for a family with young kids who she would accidentally knock over. She needs a person or family who are willing to work with a trainer to help her understand the social skills of being a good dog. She is spayed and keeps her kennel clean so we think she is housebroken. She loves toys and has been good with dog friendly dogs who accept that she is young and big. If she goes to a home with another dog, it should be young and playful like her so it is a good match.
If you are interested in adopting Dolly, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new
Our dog adoption fee for dogs 6 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
